here for sarah and joe lightsaber yeah, you don't need a lightsaber to do this, lesson all you need are your drawing, supplies some paper and something to, call with yeah you have the red, lightsaber yes isn't that supposed to be, the set yes the dark side, you ready to start yes we're going to, use our pencil first to draw the main, shape of and we're just going to draw, the handle we're going to draw a big, rectangle shape so let's first draw a, horizontal line up here at the top, i'm going to press, firmly or dark so that our art friends, can see it on the camera but you guys at, home can press lightly so it's easier to, erase at the end, so there's the top, then we're going to draw two lines, straight down, and i'm going to turn my paper a little, sideways here we go and then we're going, to draw straight down if you want to you, could use a ruler might make it easier, to draw a straight line there we go, then we're going to draw another, vertical line straight down from here, and you could come down a little further, too so that we use all of our paper, nice, and then at the end we're going to, connect these two lines together with, another horizontal line, now let's divide up the handle we're, going to start by drawing a line pretty, much right in the middle you could draw, it a little lower, there you go then we're going to split, up here this in half also, right here actually i am going to slide, this down just a little bit on mine and, then erase it that's the nice thing, about using a pencil is you can change, it any way you want and erase any of the, lines you don't want to keep now down, here on this bottom rectangle shape, we're going to draw a smaller rectangle, shape by, drawing a line straight down, about that far, it's almost halfway and then we're going, to draw another line in so we've got, this smaller rectangle shape right here, on this rectangle shape we're going to, make it a little smaller we're going to, draw another line straight down on each, side, then let's switch to our eraser and, erase the outside lines, now let's draw a horizontal line, straight across on the top, and we are trying to draw luke, skywalker's lightsaber but we're going, to leave some of the details out to keep, this lesson a little easier now we're, going to draw two lines straight down, that are inside so this is a lot, smaller, and then let's draw a line across to, connect the bottom, then on top let's draw two more lines, coming straight up like this, and then let's connect those at the top, then we're going to draw two short lines, down, and these should be a little bit longer, some of these distances aren't exactly, like the movie but that's okay we're, doing we're practicing right yeah, now we i connected the bottom but then, we went a little past on each side then, we're gonna draw two more lines straight, down, and then we're to connect those across, so we've got a lot of rectangle shapes, don't we okay now this distance is a lot, further down so i'm going to draw two, more lines straight down like this, but you could go a little bit further on, yours come down to about here on each, side, so you can go past because your this, rectangle is a little bit taller yeah, and then draw a line straight across to, the, outside there we go now we're going to, erase you want to erase this line right, here and this line and also these lines, on the outside i'm going to erase out, here too, then let's add two more, lines straight down inside of this, smaller rectangle so we're going to draw, them inside, just a little bit further like this, yes and then let's come down here we're, going to add one line straight across at, the very bottom, and then another line right below it, and then let's draw two short lines, right here, and then one on the outside, on the left and then also on the right, i'm gonna make these a bit smaller okay, now we're ready to switch to our marker, let's trace over this top rectangle, shape right here at the very top we'll, just trace over the pencil lines the, guidelines, there you go, now let's also trace over this really, long skinny rectangle shape, this is a nice part about drawing with, the pencils first because then you could, get it just the way you want it before, you use your, markers then let's draw the next, rectangle shape down, i'm going to trace over the pencil line, you can also add i'm going to add one, more line up here towards the top, now this next part is gold or kind of a, copper color, it's supposed to be a little bit longer, i think but that's okay, now let's draw this next rectangle shape, i'm going to draw straight over the, pencil line, and then let's also draw another line, straight across at the very bottom, cool now let's draw over these pencil, lines straight down, now this next rectangle is really cool, it has a bunch of silver stripes or, chrome stripes and there's nine i, believe so we're going to start right in, the middle and draw, two lines straight across that are, really close together, so because there's nine there's one, right in the middle, then there's going to be four on top and, also four on bottom and let's see if we, can space them out just right so i'm, going to draw another one at the very, top so there's, one, how many more do we need in between uh, three more three more yeah you're right, good job let's see if we can fit three, more in there i'm gonna draw, one right in the middle, and then we're gonna draw, so watch this we're gonna draw one right, in the middle here, really small there you go, now we gotta fit, one on top and one below so yours is, tighter which i think is awesome you can, fit it right in between i'm gonna have, more black space in between these silver, chrome bits, and you're gonna have a smaller black, section but that's okay i love that our, two drawings aren't exactly the same, that's okay right yeah they're both, turning out awesome the most important, thing is to have fun yeah and two, practice practice okay now so we don't, get confused let's connect the top two, you go then let's connect the bot or the, middle, the bottom two, and we probably could have done this, first before we did all of the other, lines you could do the next two so right, here do this one that might be easier so, do the next two up that's what i should, have done is these two right here and, then gone up one and then do that one, right there and this one, so leave a space yeah there you go and, then leave a space and then do the top, or the the next one, that was tricky you did it though okay, now let's do this bottom one we're gonna, do right here at the bottom we're gonna, add, two more, and let's connect those while we're here, doing it, nice then the next part is we're gonna, do another stripe right in the middle, this is fun spacing these out yeah, and then let's connect those two also, that'll make it a little easier we don't, have to go back and try to figure it out, then we're going to add two more in, between the top and i'm going to connect, the ends and then two more lines, on the bottom section, and connect those two, now let's draw this small rectangle, shape, we're going to draw and trace over, the pencil lines, then we're going to draw over the pencil, lines going down on the left and also on, the right, good job, now let's add stripes going across it's, going to look like a ladder i'm going to, go back over it so it's a little bit, thicker that stripe, but then go all the way down so leave a, little space and then go down and draw, another stripe, doesn't that look like a ladder yeah i, don't know how many are on that section, but you can go in and just fill it all, the way down to the bottom, then right here let's draw a little, horizontal line coming in and then we're, going to go up to the top right here and, then we can connect it, now let's draw the big rectangle shape, i'm going to go all the way down to here, and then over here on this side we're, going to trace over the pencil line also, all the way down, i'm gonna go all the way down just like, you and then connect, over, then let's draw over the pencil lines, here, and on the bottom, and then let's also draw the pencil, lines straight down, next on this inside one i'm going to add, another horizontal line right there, and then also on this outside shape on, the right and also on the left, i'm going to add one more rectangle, right here at the very bottom that's, smaller, before we color let's do one more thing, and color the black in between all of, these silver bits so up here at the top, i'm going to draw a little sideways u, shape to connect first, then let's go down and connect in, between each of the other, silver stripes, until we get down to the very bottom, good job you did it let's repeat that, same step on the other side but have the, u shapes going the other direction, and connect all the way down to the, bottom, now this next part let's color in in, between each of those silver bits so we, want to make sure that the silver right, here is white and then we're going to, color in between so this part's a little, tricky huh then we're going to leave a, little space or this one's a white, stripe and we're going to color in the, next part, and go all the way up but you want to, make sure that you skip every other, stripe, good job austin i love how that looks, colored in now before we finish coloring, our drawing let's add one more detail, right here was a little, clip, so we're going to draw two lines, straight down next to each other, and then at the bottom let's draw a, little curve to connect and also up at, the top, then we're going to draw this kind of, shape that comes out, and then connects down we'll draw it, straight down next to it, and you can go past yeah past the top, and then connect, in austin we did it we finished drawing, our lightsaber it looks really cool, except we still need to color it yeah my, favorite part we are going to fast, forward so remember to pause again and, take time to color your drawings oh, before we color it let's do one more, thing we're going to switch to our, eraser and erase any of the guidelines, or pencil lines that you can still see, all right you ready to fast forward yeah, to make your lightsaber extra shiny it, makes it look super 3d too we used cg03, which is a light gray if you have the, same biannual markers it's a light gray, we use that for the main color like, right here it's solid and now austin is, going back over with the darker gray, cg05 and adding stripes, a stripe of dark gray down the side yes, that makes it look 3d and shiny yeah, it looks so cool austin good job thank, you, there you go you can add a thin stripe, and then a thicker stripe right next to, it so you could turn it so that you have, the chiseled edge like this so it's flat, it makes it thicker, yeah just like that all the way down, then i also went back over with my white, colored pencil to add a little highlight, on the left side so and then i went all, the way down to, down all of the silver pieces, and also down here on the handle, austin give me five we did it we, finished drawing and coloring our, lightsabers they look super realistic i, love yours so much thank you i hope our, friends will take time to color their, drawings also we will be about, adventuring the lightsaber we do we hope, we had a lot of fun and we'll see you, later our friends goodbye, [Music]
