hey our friends we're going to draw, another pokemon today right checkers, yeah what are we drawing light brush, all right dude you got your marker yeah, all right we hope you guys are going to, follow along with us you got a marker or, something to draw with we're going to be, drawing with a sharpie and regular, printer paper if we go too fast what can, they do they can always pause the video, yes you guys can always pause the video, if we go too fast all right dude you're, ready to start yeah okay first step, we're going to start with our paper, vertical, and we're going to draw him he's kind of, got a long neck so that's why we're, going to draw it this way and we're, going to draw his head right in the, middle we're going to start with his eye, and it's going to be a curve uh we're, going to draw a curve that comes down, and then a a line that comes back, okay so that's his eye, we're gonna draw it kind of small but, it's right in the middle of the paper, towards the top, good no that's good keep going, good job man okay now we're going to, draw the inside of his eye or the pupil, and this is the dark part of his eye so, we're going to come up and we're going, to, curve back down, so upside down u, good and then at the very top we're, going to do a little, uh line or kind of an oval and we're, gonna leave that white and then color in, everything else, good job man okay now we're gonna do a, little, curve for his eyebrow or kind of his, angry eyes, okay now let's draw his horn next and, then we're going to draw the rest of his, head so we're going to do his horn is, going to be diagonal from his from his, eye and we can put two dots that are, kind of right next to each other and, those are diagonal, from each other, and that's going to be the start and the, end of his horn okay you got it, good, good job man okay now we're gonna do, that horn so we're gonna have two lines, that come up and we can do it from both, sides, good, and then we're gonna connect the top of, those together with another curved line, and there's his horn okay now let's draw, the rest of his head we're going to draw, his nose and this is going to come into, his, into a smile so right below his eye, let's put another little dot and this is, going to be where his mouth ends okay, so we can draw that i'm going to move, that a little bit higher, we're going to have his mouth and really, close to his eye okay then we're going, to start over here we're going to do a, big curved line that comes down, good then we're going to curve around, and then we're going to come cut up, back down and then hook right at the end, into that dot, good, you did it that was kind of a tricky, line okay so now we can draw the bottom, of his mouth so in between it's kind of, where we went up curved up a little bit, we're going to do a, curved line in between but that's curved, up, okay so his mouth is going to be open, good and we're going to draw the bottom, of his lip, and so that's going to be, the same line just below that one, starting to look like him huh, okay now he's got two little nostrils, put one there, one there, good okay now we'll put just we're gonna, imagine this line coming through his, horn and just coming past, his horn, just a little bit there you go okay now, let's do his ear first so we're going to, come over here so we're going up right, above his ear or right above his eye and, then just slightly to the right a little, bit and we're going to do a big swirl so, here we go, come around, come back, and then, hook back in, looks like kind of like a snail, yep no that's good keep going, you did it good job man okay now we're, going to come back we're going to, skip a little spot and then we're going, to curve in, to, that, his ear, there we go okay now right here where we, have this little gap and we want to, imagine this so this line is supposed to, look like it kind of keeps going through, there you go, good job that looks good man okay and, then we're gonna we're gonna connect, those two lines so we're gonna come up, we're gonna do a big upside down u, to connect those and this looks like the, second ear so the ear that's behind his, head, perfect good job man it looks really, good okay now we're going to come back, down and this is going to be into his, neck so we're going to come out of the, middle of his ear, and kind of s curve so we'll come, towards his, neck and we'll come down, come a little closer to his mouth and, then straighten out, good and then you can, keep going, like that, yes, keep going and then come down a little, bit so, he has a little bit of a kind of a long, neck doesn't he good job man that looks, really good okay now let's draw his, belly the this part of his neck and it's, going to come down and create his belly, all right so we'll come back up to his, up to his mouth here and we're going to, come down, come out, and then back in, good, yes keep going, good job you did it man okay now we're, gonna draw his first fin okay, so we're gonna draw another curve that, looks a lot like this one we're gonna, come over here and we're gonna do a big, curve that comes up, like that, and we can come all the way to the edge, because this is gonna be the furthest, part of his body and then we're gonna, come back in, good, yes okay now we're going to come up just, a little and we're going to do an s, curve into this line or we can start, over here let's start over here we'll, curve the end of this line so kind of, start hooking, back and then we'll come down, back up, and then back down, because he's a he's a water tab right so, he swims yeah so he's got these fins, looks like he swims, because he's got these cool big fins all, right and then he's also got this turtle, shell, on his back, that looks like an awesome fin dude good, job okay now let's do his his shell, we're going to do another s line so, we'll come back up to his neck, come a little higher than when we, stopped, come down, and then s back into his fin, good okay then we could do another, line that runs parallel to that first, one that we did but we're gonna stop, and then we'll come back down here and, finish, down here, and you want that distance to be about, the same, there we go okay now we're going to draw, horns that look like the horn that's on, his head but these are on his shell so, we can do the same thing we can do two, two dots one, two, okay and then we're going to do the same, curve up, both sides, good and then connect the top, the curved line okay and then we'll come, back down here and we can just do, we can just we don't have to do the two, dots every time but we can do another, bump down here so if you can draw them, without the two dots try it, good, and back down, perfect okay now we're going to draw, another horn another bump right next to, this one that we just drew we'll come up, curve and then back down, and those look like they're overlapping, it looks like this one's in front of, that one, good okay now let's draw the back of his, shell so we'll draw this is going to be, a curved line that comes to the first, horn we'll imagine it going through that, horn and it's going to come through the, other side curve down, then we'll come through that horn and on, finish into, his fin, there awesome that looks really cool, okay now let's do his fin on this side, so do another s curve, over and down, good, you did it nice job okay now we're gonna, curve hook back around like we did over, here, and then, big line back into his body, nice okay now let's do one last little, fin and it's back here, and it's back behind this fin so we're, using overlapping right, so he looks super 3d, okay we did it he looks awesome he looks, kind of like a snail huh yeah yeah, all right dude so let's get our colors, picked out and then we'll fill them in, okay okay, all right checkers we got our colors, picked out we got two grays we got a, lighter gray and a darker gray and this, one's just, called regular gray this one's called, the deep gray we have white and we also, have two yellows or kind of an orange so, we have a lemon yellow a really light, yellow and we kind of have this dark, yellow or a chrome yellow is what it's, called and then we have blue, and we have a darker blue and this one's, called cobalt blue and if our art, friends have the same set that we have, they can use the same colors but if not, they can just try to match these yeah, yeah all right you ready start yeah okay, first step we're gonna do we're gonna do, uh his belly first so we're gonna use, this light yellow, and this is called the lemon yellow and, we're gonna color in his bottom lip okay, and then after we color his bottom lip, we're going to do his belly line and so, that starts right here it comes curves, close to his neck, then we're going to do a big s line that, comes down, and comes into, his fin, and we're going to go right along the, bottom of his fin and then end right, there, then we're also going to come over here, so if we go too fast you guys can pause, the video and then match what we're, doing but we're going to do another line, on this fin over here, so everything inside here, is going to be yellow, and inside there is going to be yellow, and then after we do this we're going to, go over the yellow and try and get it a, little bit lighter by covering it with a, layer of white okay should we fast, forward yeah okay let's do it right now, good job chuckers on coloring all his, belly and we we did put the white on top, of the yellow so it looks a little, lighter right okay now we're going to, get our blue our light blue and we're, gonna color in everything else except, for his shell his mouth and his eye, ready fast forward yeah let's do it, right now, all right chuckers so we started doing, it with this color huh and it got a, little too dark and so we switched to a, lighter blue this one's called the pale, blue and we're gonna cover up what we, colored with our with our regular blue, so we just thought that was a little too, dark and we switched, and i think this looks a lot better, don't you yeah because he's not too he's, not very dark blue he's kind of a, lighter blue and so we can just put that, on top and that's the nice thing about, oil pastels and we can also blend it and, i'll show you that we can blend and make, it look a little bit more shaded, after okay okay let's fast forward, chuggers good job man kade now we got, all of the light blue colored in and we, even went over our light blue with the, white so it made it even lighter so, we're not going to use we're not going, to end up using that dark blue that we, talked about earlier we're just going to, use the regular blue that we first, thought we were going to use and we're, going to do this for a little bit of, shading so we can put a little, a little shading on his ear right here, and put some shading on his horn on the, left of his horn and then we can also, come down here and put a little shading, on his tail, there we go okay and then the last thing, we're going to do with this color is, we're going to put two little spots, right here, on his body, put a little spot here, i'm going to put a second spot that's a, little smaller just below that one and, then we're going to put two spots right, up here next to his cheek, that cool, that looks really neat that looks just, like him because he's kind of a lighter, blue and he's got this even light blue, for the spots but that's a little bit, darker and then he's got the light belly, okay now we're going to use this chrome, yellow and we're going to use this for, shading okay so we're going to come down, here and we're going to shade the bottom, side of his belly and this might not, show up on the camera very well for art, friends but we're just going to add a, little sliver, on the bottom of his belly so it looks, more 3d, there we go and then we're going to put, a little sliver on the bottom of this, fin also, over here and then also on this fin, it's a really small sliver and then, we're going to also do a shadow that's, underneath, his chin or his lip, okay so this one is going to be, it's going to kind of go into that blue, and so we're going to get our dark blue, again or a light blue, that's darker it was this one right, and then we'll come back here and do a, little sliver just right under his chin, there we go, all right cool job dude okay now let's, do our light gray and we're gonna fill, in our shell, okay then we're gonna get the dark gray, that we picked out and we're gonna do, another layer on top of that light gray, just down here at the bottom of his, shell so it looks like it's, there's a little shadow down here so it, looks more 3d not cool, checkers good job dude the last step, that we did was we filled in his mouth, with pink right yeah and then we also, used our markers to go back over the, lines because we cover them up with the, oil pastels black lines kind of look a, little faded right and it looks super, awesome did you have fun yeah, promise yeah, we hope you guys had a lot of fun, drawing lapras Cool Platinum Age gem - The Story Of Just Kids (McLoughlin Bros. 1932). This is a 20 page mixture of text and prose illustrated in 3 colors. Just Kids was a kid humor strip that ran from 1923 to 1950. It was popular enough to inspire a comic book, a coloring book and a fistful of Big Little Books. 14
