hi everyone bronwyn here um, so for this how to draw a video today, i thought we should learn how to draw a, highland cow, since they are really popular and we are, scottish of course and everyone loves, highland cows and they are beautiful, animals, and that is my most famous drones i, would say of all my stuff, in a way like they are the favorites the, highland cows so, um i thought to teach everyone how to, draw the highland cow, would be really really cool and i would, love to see everyone's attempt as well, at this, so we'll just get started then right so, um obviously i'll just draw in a way, that will be easy for everyone and the, kids can follow and now and then every, kid can draw highland cow now for their, parents if they want, so you're welcome so all right we'll get, started then so, i think everyone knows what i always, start off with because this is becoming, a regular fine, um is again a circle, in the middle of your page so again i'm, using a pencil, and the kids can use a pencil as well, and of course get your, eraser at the ready if you make mistakes, that's why pencils are good, right so once you've done a circle then, what you're going to do with that circle, we'll move this up so everyone can see, in center, um you are going to draw a straight line, down the side of the circle like that, and then another line down the other, side of the circle like this, right move up higher see as you can see, and then what you're going to do is, you're going to draw, uh kind of like a square shape but it's, not really is, is it comes far out of the edges so you, want to do, this kind of shape like that, okay so easy peasy simple enough right, and then what you want to do is you want, to draw um, a big line in the center like, there okay so a big line coming across, circle like that and another one a, smaller one coming along the circle like, that at the bottom, so you've got this is gonna you'll see, how it makes sense name but just um, draw two straight lines across the, circle like this, kind of looks like a hot air balloon, actually right now doesn't it, okay and then when you're happy with, that what you're going to do, is you're going to start here and draw, another line, and curve it this time like that, and like this so you want two on each, side right, like that okay and then you're wanting, to do, here is you're going to draw, another line starting here and another, one, in this side like that okay, and then last i'll make this a bit, smaller because you just can't see, and then last here you're going to do, another curvy line, and a curving line like that all right, okay, um i'll make a tiny bit more smaller now, so you guys can see, okay great so once you're happy with, that, then what you're going to do is you're, going to use your, rubber your eraser and gently rub out a, tiny bit right, not too much that is going to disappear, but just enough that you can still see, underneath okay um obviously, kids won't have an ipad but you can your, paper is still fine you know and, um just take your time with it and you, can use a pen, if you want i'm gonna use a pen because, it's a bit clearer to see, but okay so just follow my leads, and this is what we're going to do now, we're going to use this again as a guide, to draw the highland cow, so as you can tell i think you can, already probably tell it's going to be, so we're going to start i'm going to, start with the snow here, and draw around snap like that, like this okay, and then there and then, like that so it's making a nice like, bump, shape like this okay and then, i'm gonna go from the snout and do, cheekbones like that at the side right, and then i'm going to go at the top i'm, going to do the head the top of the head, like so oh, and then zoom in a bit so you guys can, see, and then we're going to use these lines, for these lines here work for the ears, because this is where the highlanders, ears usually, are like over here okay, so again you can do these ear shapes in, many ways like i do them like they look, like, leaves like that or the other way you, can do it, is you can draw them like this as well, so you can do it in that way or you, could do it that way so a straight line, and then just a curve but was whatever, is easiest, for you guys to do okay and then, we're gonna go with the neck part and do, a big, curve like that and a big curve like, that, all right and then, above the ears we are going to draw the, highland count, uh cows horns okay so we're gonna do a, straight line like that, a straight line like that okay, and then just before that um, bit of the ear we're going to go past, that bit and then we're going to do we, bend like that and we bend like that, okay and then you're going, to continue with that line and you're, going to do, that okay easy peasy, so how cute is this already highland, cows are the cutest find so ever, you know and what i love most about them, as well is their hair, and the fact that their hair covers, their face sometimes it's very cute, all right and then you're going to do a, wee, line fury lines like that up here you, see that, just like like can we start i suppose, it's like that, and then once you're happy with that, you're going to continue with one of the, lines, and do a big lawn that hair like that, and you can do as many of these as you, would like, like so because it looks like kyle and, cows have fringes and it's, so cute, now you can you can lower it lower than, that as well you can have it like, covering its whole face if you want but, that's up to you completely, and then once you're up with that you, are going to add, bits of hair onto the ear so you're, going to draw, hair like this as well, and hair like that as well okay, so it's easy basically you're doing the, same kind of pattern, shape you're just doing bendy curvy, lines like that and you're putting them, close together and it's giving that, effect of, hair um so it's really really clever, sometimes using, different brush strokes and techniques, and how you put them together and it, makes that effect, so it's really really handy you don't, need all these fancy, materials and stuff when people do hair, you just need to know how to use it the, right way like a smart way, you know so yeah okay and then continue, with that you're just going to fill in, the ears, here with the hair like that, and then he does have hair, here as well they're very hairy, so you're just going to do the same, thing and continue with the line these, pattern lines everywhere and then for, the neck, the same here i don't always start right, underneath the snout i always leave a, nice sweet space a wee gap, um like so so it's never really touching, the mouth area yet because, you kind of want to, make it look like you've got you put a, shadow under here and i'll explain that, near the end i suppose but anyway, for now just do the same thing as me and, continue with these lines, you could do any direction you want, you can even make them fatter if you, want as well um, if you want them to look like a big, highlander you can, okay okay i'm gonna get rid of the, mark underneath there we go so the, sketch on its own, would look like that and that's it with, the guide underneath you can still use, again if you need to, if you still have your pencil marks, that's fine all you need to do is just, use your, eraser and just like rub out between, your markings and that's no, no problem all to do that okay um, if you still need the guy for the snow, i'm going to go back to pencil, so the snow can be the smell i would say, you could draw two lines here, and here like that and then another, curvy line in there and another cover, line like that, and then that's when you can start to, see it's the noses it's the nostrils, okay and then you're wanting to do, oh no and then a line under here, actually, yeah that's better that's better, like so okay, sometimes artists just make up as they, go and they just see what looks good, you know that's what i'm doing basically, all right okay, so i'm happy with that and then what, you're going to do is i'm going to go, back to the pen, and then i'm going to just go over that, with the pen now, like so kendall's like angry eyes, actually doesn't that it's quite funny, all right i'm above that there we go, and again i am going to go and lower the, hair more so he's, going to have he or she but well i'll, just stay here for now, you can do more hair like that lower, down, and you will have hair up here as well, with when it is, really heavy that's what's cute about, highland cows i suppose, okay, all right i'm happy with that so far, all right and then i am going to use a, shadow, effect just to show you where the dark, areas on this highlander would be and, this will make him pop up more and, everything i'll just make them a wee bit, bigger for you guys, now if you don't want to snout that big, you can, give a really good effect of putting, more hair, at the side like that thicker lines like, this, and just fix put some hair over the, snout, to give it a smaller effect a smaller, look if you don't want it that big, but again it's up to you all right so, again sorry, shadow brush just going to lighten my, brush you can use the pencil still for, this to do, shading if you want um pencils are, usually good to, do shading effects are really really, cool lean on it differently like this, it really helps you can even use your, finger to like smudge the pencil, that's a really good tip when i use, pencil and not use an ipad and i draw a, pencil and, i want to like blend in my shadowing, effect i use, my finger to smudge it and it gives a, really nice soft effect of, um shadowing okay so i'll use a pencil, just to show you what i mean, so i'm gonna go and use the pencil to do, the dark areas, on this highland cow to make him stand, out and pop more, so he would be dark at the neck part, wouldn't they, sorry this is like shaking here, you'd be dark here, and in between like that, and it'd be dark here so he's gonna have, some dark strands, for his hair, and then i'm going to make his snout a, wee bit dark, as well so like this but what you're, going to do is i'm going to leave a, highlight on the snow, because he's going to have a wee bit of, a a light area, and then darker underneath the mouth, and i'm going to go a wee bit darker, again to make the bottom mouth, show a bit more clearer yeah, so again it doesn't need to be perfect, it's just whatever you know, and then i'm going to make the horns, gray as well, give them some cool shadow effect, like so and up here, the tip of the horns like that, and then again shadowing i'm on the hair, on his head like this, you can already see how he's like, standing out there can't you, and i'm going to go a wee bit darker in, here for the ears because he would be, darker in these areas because it's, inside his ear, and then up here up here up here up here, and then if you want to you can have the, edges of the highland cow, gray as well for the shadow effect, and there you go oh and if you want you, can, um if you want to draw more of the body, you can draw, the body like this as well and then you, can just do, details like this on his body and that's, the hair, continuing on him like that, and then just go back to pencil and do, more the, the shading effect on him so yeah, so there you go that's really it there's, your highland cow if you, are wanting to learn how to draw that um, and then i think, everyone would love to learn how to draw, highland cows so i've made a really easy, simple sketch and, hopefully you've understood that really, well and i do enjoy drawing these guys, they're the cutest little finds ever, and i just i i wonder here basically the, fringe, is really they're really cute but yeah, no so that's it for today guys i hope, you, found this video very easy and fun and, kind of serving at the same time i've, heard a lot of people saying that they, love watching me draw it's just kind of, relaxing so i like to have that, hear that i suppose and have that effect,
